Postgraduate Study with Norris
Norris teaches postgraduate pianists studying for the University of Southampton's innovative M.Mus (Performance). They have access to the Keyboard Collection (see Early Pianos ), and benefit from Norris's own training by pupils of Cortot and Matthay, as well as from his own long-considered insights on matters of technique and musicianship. The course involves close study of the business of music promotion (including hands-on work through a variety of local venues) and of the theory and practice of teaching. Students benefit from the University environment to learn important research skills and to make their own musicological investigations into topics that interest them. They give a number of public recitals during the course, which can last one year or two.
Advanced pianists who feel they might benefit from the wide range of opportunities Norris can offer at Southampton should contact him directly in the first instance.
